To me, this only shows that such a poll would require at least three 
steps.

Step one: brain storming
	Gather all kinds of proposals people can come with. Compile a 
	comprehensive list of wishes. Do not make the process open
	ended. Set a reasonable end date to the phase in advance. 

Step two: discussion
	Let people comment on the wishes. Set a reasonable end date to
	the discussion phase.

Step three: prioritize
	Let people give the lists which whishes they'd like to see the
	most. Set a reasonable end date.

This way, the results get a lot less random.

I'd certainly have up-voted push-shove in phase three :-) It is one of the 
features I sorely missed when I left Protel95/Altium for gEDA.
