Hi, does anyone have a foolproof way of installing geda on Win8.1 64bit 
please? My colleague has tried to install/deploy v1.7.1 from the 
releases directory at http://www.delorie.com/pcb/geda-windows/ .

He can call gschem, with or without a filename, but no window ever opens.

Forgive me, I've been almost exclusively using Linux for the last 10 
years...
