Where did this come from?  Did you not meet your quota of insulting
pcb this month?

If the pcb netlister wants to pull extra info out of a schematic for
its own use, that means the netlister's flexibility (something you are
harping on all the time) is being used in a useful target-specific
way.  This flexibility is something you push as a godsend for every
target EXCEPT pcb.

Your immediate reaction that any enhancement to pcb will destroy the
rest of the universe is not useful.
