symbolic link ??? sounds very interesting...

Oops, an error. It is:
hda7 f [free] 128 Mbytes 4 kB/Cluster
hda8 g [free] 128 Mbytes 4 kB/Cluster
hda9 h /usr/src [my sources] 256 MBytes 8 kB/Cluster

Yes in theorie !!!
Whenever I have used fdisk and format I get only 4 kByte Clutser but
no 2 kByte clusters. I think, this is a bug un the german Version of
msdos 6.22.
I do not like to buy Partition Magic because it is too expensive and
I do not like to use an illegal Copy of it.
I like to stay with GNU.
Is there a GPL'ed tool to format correctly ???
Same is for partition of 32 MBytes... Partition Magic can do maximiseing
partitions perfectly, if I choose 512 Byte Clusters for example...

Ok, again and a some corrections. The exact sizees are:
hda1 c MD-DOS, DJGPP 125 MBytes 4 kB/Cluster
# c:/622msdos msdos 6.22, ados
# c:/dosdevel djgpp, c, c++, nasm, rhide, perl, watt-32, allegro
# c:/dosnet packet-drv, arachne, lynx, wget, ftp, nfs-client, pine
# c:/dosprog word 5.5, acrobat 3.0
# c:/dostools seal, ...
hda5 d swappartition 62 MBytes 4 kB/Cluster
# curently a swapping problem... because it try to use c:/
hda6 e tmp 125 MBytes 4 kB/Cluster
hda7 f [free] 125 Mbytes 4 kB/Cluster
hda8 g [free] 125 Mbytes 4 kB/Cluster
# hda was an error from me, because it is 4 kByte too
hda9 h /usr/src [my sources] 237 MBytes 4 kB/Cluster
nsf i mounted /home 117.760 MBytes 4 kByte/Block
