The latest WIP version is 3.9.36 at http://sourceforge.net/projects/alleg/ .

Don't be afraid of the WIP (Work-In-Progress) status, the djgpp port is as
stable as the old 3.12 version.

No, Allegro 3.12 used old asm syntax which makes Gas versions newer than
2.9.x complain. This is fixed in the latest WIPs.
