I have to initalise a Force/Torque measuring unit through teh serial port.
Some short character strings must me sent out to improve this
Like:
    0x8e, 0x02, test_byte, CSUM
or
    0xa0, 0x02, zero_byte, CSUM

I also have to read the response of the device.
It is a UniForce F/T measure unit, but I don't know the data bit, stop bit,
parity configuration.
I tried to access it with Windows Hyperterminal, but I do not have any
practice in serial communication.
Finally I have to create an executable, which makes some initialisations on
the device, using a message protocoll, which is given.

Maybe you have some guess for it.
