The ACCU has shown itself to be a valid source of "real" programming
information. In addition, the first link I gave was written by a
member of the ISO C committee, which should qualify him.

That is my opinion, anyway. Feel free to disagree :)

Yes. But we are not talking about disagreement. Disagreement is when
two sources differ on a matter of opinion. What is or is not strictly
correct C or C++ is not a matter of opinion - it is a matter of fact.
When a source consistently differs from factual information on a
subject, one may call that person "not competent" WRT that subject.

I didn't say he was incompetent. I said he was a "bane of competent C
programmers". There is a difference. Mr. Schildt could be very good at
programming; the fact remains that he is not very good at providing
good information to others.

Herb Schildt consistently and repeatedly provides incomplete,
misleading, and just plain false information concerning the C and C++
programming languages#.Thus, he is not competent when it comes to
writing books on the matter*.

# - That sentence is a fact.
* - That sentence is an opinion.
Do you see the difference?
_______

"Yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation" yields falsehood when preceded by its quotation.
