Ah, misinformed student.
Giacomo is right on one count, Sybase has stopped support for Watcom C/C++ (and
all related development tools) as of a month or so ago (IIRC). They have also
stopped making the software, period. It has been End-Of-Life'd. Chances of
actually finding a copy any more are pretty slim, but there are a few companies
online who still sell it (try http://www.greymatter.co.uk). The compiler was
last updated, to 11.0b, over two years ago. There are current plans to release
a final, web only, 11.0c patch, but this requires you to already have an 11.0b
disc.
There are also talks to release the compiler source code under some sort of
OpenSource type license, but there's been no word one way or the other on this
yet...
Do not mail Sybase about it, since they'll probably ignore you.

True. And it is bug-ridden. Not too bad, but I've managed to crash 11.0 on a
few occasions with badly formed code.

This is true. These days if you want to develop PMode DOS apps, DJGPP is the
only way to go. The price is unbeatable, and the support in this group is
phenomenal.
If you decide to go with DJGPP, please make sure you read the FAQ in its
entirety (at least twice! ;), as many of the problems people come to this group
looking for answers to could be easily solved through this simple action.
