Something that has been annoying me for a while now is that hardly any
games are being developed for DOS anymore because of Microsoft's
DirectX. Problem is, even with DirectX, Windows is still there,
lurking in the background, making things run slow. Even more annoying
is when you're in the middle of a DOS game/program (in this case, the
ZSNES Super Nintendo emulator) and you accidentaly hit the Windows
key, or Windows decides to run another program, and Windows won't let
you re-enter your game. Anyways, recently I bought Bleem, a
Playstation emulator that works on the software level, translating
code/data meant for the Sony Playstation into code/data for the PC as
the game runs. Well, this morning, both ideas crashed into each
other. Run DirectX games under DOS using a translator/emulator
similar to Bleem. Does anyone think this idea is possible?
