I have been involved with a few open-source development teams, but they
seem to always disintegrate rather quickly, mostly because there was
nothing defined to begin with, and everyone had a different idea of what
they wanted to accomplish.

I have a game project that I have been working on sporatically for about
a year or so, and is in my opinion over 50% completed. I was wondering
if there would be any interest in working on this game (using
C/DJGPP/ALLEGRO), possibly taking it to completion. I'm sure that most
people would want to work on their own projects, but perhaps a few
people would appreciate being in a group in which the foundation (about
175k of source code written) has been laid?

If I have interested you in the least, read on.

The game as it stands now is a top-scrolling space game, which is
action-oriented by plays a bit like an rpg. You will be able to upgrade
your ship, talk to planets and other ships, by cargo, fly missions, some
developing the plot of the game. Action will take place in
self-contained "solar-systems" which are inter-traversable through using
wormholes.

Right now it runs in either 320x200 or 640x480 (though the graphics
aren't scaled to that size) in 256 colors. I am no artist, and thus the
game relies heavily on the spritelib graphic library, however I would
hope to improve this if a graphic artist was available (don't we all).

If you are _still_ interested, download the source and executable:

"http://www3.ns.sympatico.ca/klaas/annex.zip" (~550kb)

The code is poorly documented, and thus I would need a few days to
document it and organize it a bit if anyone was interested in
participating in such a project.
