I depends, these days it's very rare for a game written
by one author, without a games company behind them to pour resources
into the
project, to make it big; especially with their first big game and
most importantly without an original idea. Please don't get me wrong
I'm not knocking you nor your coding skills if it's a poke it's a poke
at the industry. Basically there has become a basic template for games,
a platform, a 1st person shoot-em-up, a beat-em-up, a dune II strategy
type
game or a sports sim. Basically the one author successes these days
usually
are a truly original idea outside those templates. So do what you will
enjoy
doing if you like writing games for DOS do it in DOS and flog it to the
masses
for less, games companies seem to have forgotten the simple
supply/demand
principles. If your not very experienced with windows programming and
directx
perhaps you would like to do it in windows as a learning exeperience,
it's
really up to what you want, I would however suggest doing whichever you
will
enjoy more...

As you know x86 Asm how about doing it in windows with assembler, if you
want get a job writing games that'll certinly put you above most of the
competition. :->
