Please don't get me wrong I'm not knocking you nor your coding skills if it's a poke it's a poke at the industry. Basically there has become a basic template for games, a platform, a 1st person shoot-em-up, a beat-em-up, a dune II strategy type game or a sports sim. Basically the one author successes these days usually are a truly original idea outside those templates. So do what you will enjoy doing if you like writing games for DOS do it in DOS and flog it to the masses for less, games companies seem to have forgotten the simple supply/demand principles. If your not very experienced with windows programming and directx perhaps you would like to do it in windows as a learning exeperience, it's really up to what you want, I would however suggest doing whichever you will enjoy more... As you know x86 Asm how about doing it in windows with assembler, if you want get a job writing games that'll certinly put you above most of the competition. :-> Ed Hill
