This is a very common problem when you run RHIDE in the directory
%DJDIR%/bin/rhide (which means, in the directory where rhide.exe
and rhide.gpr are located). Simply (or better in general) do not
run in that directory since if you have created there the default
project file, RHIDE opens this automatically if it is the only one
there (which is probably the case).

In general no. Simply start RHIDE in the directory where you want
to place your executables (which will solve also your first problem).

BTW: If you run RHIDE on Windows, you can change the default start
directory by modifying the properties of the RHIDE icon.
