you can use either one, it doesn't really matter, it's just a matter of
taste. NASM has Intel-like syntax while DJGPP has AT&T syntax. It's not
true that NASM supports only 16 bit code, it supports a lot of different
formats. you can compile DJGPP objects (coff objects) straight from
NASM.
