An easy as good thing in fast graphics might be to, when you have done
all the neccecary manipulations for the current loop-turn, is to
let the computer sit and wait for the vga retrace to be at the top of
the screen. Why? If you blit 1000 screens/sec, neither any monitor or
your eyes will be able to profit of that.
The usual screen update rate for most screens is between 60 and 90
redraws pes second, and they are constant for the resolution used.
If you blit 180 screens/sec on a screen that getting redrawed 90times
a sec you'll loose half of the screens anyway or you'll get trashy
graphics.

I don't remember how to do a vga_retrace_wait_routine, but I remember
that it's just a few lines and I'm sure somebody else in this newsgroup
can help you...

Hope it helps

Ludvig Larsson
