There is a big thread going on now, called something like "Tile Maps: We
Need A Better Way" on rec.games.programmer, you might want to check
there. You might want to use a news archive like dejanews to get back to
the genesis of the discussion, since it has since degenerated into
something political. If you read r.g.p you know what I mean :-)
