1: No matter what command line options you use, they will not affect the
drawing speed since the allegro drawers are allready in ASM.
If you get PGCC I would think the command line options are 
-O7 -mpentium -fomit-frame-pointer
2:Are you sure you need 16 bit colors? If you use 8 bit colors you would
get 60-70 FPS.
