I wrote a simple 3d rotator program for DJGPP that takes a 3ds file as input 
and rotates it around user specified axis.  It doesn't use allegro and is 
limited to 320x200 resolution. (it has some other limitations as well but it 
was my first crack at 3d graphics programming)  

For anyone interested, I put a link at the end of my Web page to it at
http://shrike.depaul.edu/~tmarkiew  The zip file contains the executable and 
all the code.  Feel free to play around with it.
