I suggest you figure out emacs - it's hard going at first, but it is a
very powerful editor. Whatever you want it to do, it can do it. I no
longer write my programs in PFE because Windows screws with the timing
of my programs. At present I'm deciding between RHIDE (which has a
familiar interface) and emacs (which I can use in Linux too). I think
emacs is winning at the moment, though...
