I also have had similar problems with some djgpp's stuff.
But now it gone away ;)
The problem was in my CMOS setup.
So, I advise you to load BIOS defaults and
then step by step restore settings along with
testing your software.

(In my case it was PIO Mode settings. Set up the slowest mode and see
what happens)
