Have you used the version of Edit that comes with Win95?  I don't
personally like edit much, but the newest version is a LOT better than
the version you described.

At least now you can edit up to 9 files at once, and it defaults to *.*
in the file selector.

The only things that bug me about RHIDE are that the keypad enter key is
ignored, the center key produces a high-ascii character, shift-insert
won't paste multiple times by pressing it repeatedly, the auto-indention
is exactly the style I don't like to use, and the file selector refuses
to list "makefile" even when I use the mask "*".  Sometimes these few
small nuances are enough to make me switch back to Edit for a while.

Otherwise, RHIDE is very nice... :)
