Have you used the version of Edit that comes with Win95? I don't personally like edit much, but the newest version is a LOT better than the version you described. At least now you can edit up to 9 files at once, and it defaults to *.* in the file selector. > I cannot fathom why *anybody* with access to e.g Rhide would even want > to use > MS-Edit for anything except character-building. The only things that bug me about RHIDE are that the keypad enter key is ignored, the center key produces a high-ascii character, shift-insert won't paste multiple times by pressing it repeatedly, the auto-indention is exactly the style I don't like to use, and the file selector refuses to list "makefile" even when I use the mask "*". Sometimes these few small nuances are enough to make me switch back to Edit for a while. Otherwise, RHIDE is very nice... :) -- Yamaha / XYZZ "May farce the with be you." mailto:scriven AT CS DOT ColoState DOT edu mailto:scriven AT VIS DOT ColoState DOT edu http://www.vis.colostate.edu/~scriven/
