No, you can get the DJGPP compiler for free. The last time I looked,
zero is the smallest price there is. ;)
Take a look at the licensing documents of DJGPP when you next have a
chance. I could download the source for each and every DJGPP tool and
utility and change it to my heart's content. I could even redistribute
it if I wanted, save that under the GPL I would be obligated to
distribute the source code as well, I would have to give full credit to
DJ Delorie and the other developers for any work of theirs that I used,
and I couldn't call it "DJGPP".
But this is a nonsense argument, because the difference between Watcom
and DJGPP is that you don't need to buy _anything_ to improve DJGPP -
just get the source and submit the patches when you're done. I foresee
that, because of this, someday DJGPP will have _everything_ that Watcom
currently boasts of, and more... and better.
