it might just be the source code with bugs.
I know a long time ago, i got this book on qbasic with hundreds of 
sources (all on a 1.2mb BTW .. hehe) and like 10 of them didn't work.
so sometimes comercial source codes have bugs, even simple languages like 
Qbasic.
