The Quenya (Winword) part and accompanying English notes reached me as a
load of MIME'd binary junk that my mailer shied at. (Which mailer does
faichele AT puc DOT cl use?) So I fished it out of my server's mail area with a text
editor and decrypted it to ASCII manually as far as I could. Hexadecimal codes
in {curly brackets} are MIME codes that I couldn't work out what they meant.
Re "the alphabetical sign changes would ... terrible" below: there is NO
NEED to use non-ascii (= high-order) letters in Quenya. Write long vowels as
double (and triple vowel for Sindarin and Ilkorin and Aduunaic circumflex,
which mean `superlong vowel'). Don't use the umlaut alias diaeresis (2 dots
over): in LOTR it is only to tell readers accustomed to English not to drop
final `e' and to pronounce `ea' and `eo' as separate syllables. (For umlaut in
the 1930's Quenya case ending `Xee"n' = `Xe-en' = "like an X" (to tell people
to pronounce the e's separately), insert a hyphen instead.)

translation I'm working on about a 'modern' text, the Microsoft License
Agreement. To Quenya. Please let me know if you have conversion problems. The
document is not just .txt 'cause it's made with a PC and now I'm working with
a Mac. You know, the alphabetical sign changes would have rendered the text

I'm working on a translation to quenya of the <Microsoft License Agreement>,
in an attempt to discover new, <modern> and <commercial> styles to this
language. I chose that document because it couldn't be more <universal>,
although it wouldn't be a bad idea to translate the Man's Rights' Statement.
By now, I'll include about the first half of the License Agreement together
with the vocabulary I had to devise for its translation:

Vocabulary explanation:
1. If: Uum : It seems to mean <on> in certain cases, e.g., <eruume>
(outside) seems to contain <Er-> (out), and `-uume' as a locative suffix for
new stem words. This is very similar to swedish <utom> (outside), that
contains `ut' (out) and `om' (on, about). `Om' is also used to mean `if'.
Couldn't it be the same in Quenya?
2. Buy: bakara (`get by trading'), bak < mbak, `trade', ara < hara (get,
obtain)
3.Product: dlavin < yava (produce, fruit): (`produced item')
4. Apply: norna, `run': in Castillian it is valid to use <correr> (run) to
mean <be valid>

6. A, an: min, `one'. Re LT1
7. Legal: naamin < Naamo (`the judge', alternative name of Mandos). It
is very similar to Greek `noomos' (law)
8. Open: edra, Re LOTR1. This is Sindarin, but I don't known how to devise
