Sorry if this is FAQ, yell at me to get the FAQ if it answers my
specific question.

I want to detect the presence of a modem on COM 1-4.  I may have to
use the MS-Windows API in order to do it.  Are there header files in
DJGPP for this sort of thing?  I don't need the entire API, just
something that allows me to detect modems on COM ports.

The other possibility is to do the detection from DOS.  At this point,
I don't really know if it matters.
