All -

Well, as usual I leapt face-first into the fray... turns out most of
my attempts to use a debugger with djgpp have been with edebug32,
rather than with gdb. This rather soured me on the whole issue, especially
since symbolic debuggers aren't tools I use a lot in any environment.
(Under Unix, I use dbx primarily to prevent system-freezing core dumps
if the program crashes.) I'm sure this is just inertia rather than any
real measure of merit; I'll try to give gdb a fair trial before I make
any more stupid comments (on this issue, anyway!)

Yours in chagrin,

Carl Burke
