The Borland, "No-Nonsense License Statement" (the 1990 version -- I
believe that this is the one that came with Turbo C++ 1.0), contains the
following clause:
"Also, you may not use a Turbo Language product to create, give
away, sell, license, or otherwise distribute a competitive
compiler or interpreter or to substantially duplicate in
appearance, functionality, or design a Turbo Language
development system or feature or portion of it (e.g., the DOS
extender system)."
End of discussion. If people want to say, "But what if ...", go right
ahead, but I'm going to ignore it.
