It has little chance of replacing the default libraries, simply
because every third-party toolkit out there would have to be
recompiled to match it.  More likely, it would end up as a separate
zip file for those who really need the performance increase.

I have no problem letting the official sources support it, as long as
it doesn't interfere with support for the default case also, and as
long as someone else does the work ;-)
