I can use, but it definitely isn't enough. It doesn't give clock count
even for single instruction, not to even speak about how the Athlon is
capable of issuing multiple instructions, and many of the optimization
"tricks" in the manual are obvious.

If there isn't Athlon manual, what CPU would be closest? K6? Some Intel?

Thanks! I had forgotten this even if I saw it once. Right now the site
