I just downloaded and installed both

    BASE, pgcc-2.95.3-linux-x86-glibc2.1.tar.gz, 1304698 bytes

and

    G++, pg++-2.95.3-linux-x86-glibc2.1.tar.gz, 2046999 bytes

from

    http://www.goof.com/pcg/binaries-linux.html

by doing

    tar xvpzf <tar-file.tar.gz> -C /

The files were all installed into

    /usr/local/pgcc/

but when I type

    $ /usr/local/pgcc/bin/g++ --version
    Segmentation fault (core dumped)
    $ uname -m -r -s -v
    Linux 2.0.36 #1 Tue Oct 13 22:17:11 EDT 1998 i686
    $

I would appreciate if someone could drop me a line
and tell me what I did wrong.
