By remembering the compile flags used to compile it.

this is package dependent. pgcc *is_a* gcc and uses gcc as the
driver name.

Some package maintainers chose to rename the driver to pgcc, pg++ etc.

I unfortunately have not enough time to look at and debug the binary
packages, I don't even have time to do the patches and source releases
myself, so you have to contatc the pakcage maintainer for these issues.
