Subject: pgcc port for WinNT

Hi all,

For few weeks I've compiled several
version of egcs (now gcc ;-) on WinNT
wihtout to much problems arising !
from 1.1.2 to the latest snapshot
of the new gcc-2.95,
AND I have been really disappointed
concerning the speed of the generated
code, SINCE the Visual C++ from Micro....
generates faster CODE !!!!
I cannot stand it AND accept it !!!
***********************************
Before, other versions gave much
more significant results (do not
remember the version).

So, few days ago I've been interested
into the pgcc extension.
I've download the patch to apply to egcs 1.1.2
BUT I could't apply it !
Lot a error messages.

Then here are the questions :
1/ What it the problem with the patch
2/ will pgcc with the patch be more
efficient than the strict pure egcs ?
I guess It will, Nevertheless am hoping :-)
3/ Will it be more efficient than VC++5,
   AM HOPE
4/ THE MOST IMPORTANT since I cannot compile pgcc 1.1.3
Does anyone has allready compiled a version
   of pgcc for Win32 (cygwin32 B20.1)
If yes, PLEASE can u gimme an URL to dowload
   the bundle, thx,

I know that pgcc is much more dedicated to Linux
users, but I guess that somewhere in the big
cyberspace someone has already done what I'm
waiting for !!!!

FINAL REMARK = Before compiling our project I have
bet that GNU/EGCS compiler will overrun to a great
extend in term of speed the VC++, and for the moment
I've lost ;-)

Thx in advance

Herve

REMINDER of my conf :
- OS : WinNT 4
- Unix base tools : cygwin B20.1 + autoconf + aclocal ......

PS = It would be nice from u to send me CC: answer
at my two E-mail (poulard AT laas DOT fr) and (poulard AT actia DOT fr)
in addition to the mailing list follow up. THX
