You are free to suggest better ways to handle this. If you don't then
don't complain.

Seriously: this situation is the same with any other developers mailing
list around. Do you think it is feasible to force people to subscribe? I
have this on the gimp-perl list because it has a sp*m problem and its
annoying for happy users that have an otherwise unanswered question. At
most the faq could be improved but this is a scarce human resource and
even then you need to know _which_ questions to answer.
