Hej!

Could someone explain me a difference between a -mpentium switch and a
-march=pentium ?

I've read that the latter is for generating code which is optimized for
pentium and will run ONLY on pentium, while the first is optimized for pentium
but will run on older processors too. Is it right? And if yes, is it true,
that -mepntium should give worse results in such case, because the code has to
got parts which will run on older processors?

In other words, what should I use to get the best results :)

Thanx.
