Yes. Use -mpentium -march=pentium. (The latter says that the compiler may
use pentium-specific asm instructions.)

You can change the "default" behavior by setting environment variables
(preferably in the /etc/profile):

export CFLAGS="-mpentium -march=pentium -O2 -whateverelseyouwant"
export CXXFLAGS=$CFLAGS
