If I had time I would try script to automatically find suitable components in database from symbol attributes. This approach make it possible to start with a fast sketch and refine attribute values later.

In most cases you will probably end up with a manufacturer part number and in some cases this could be given directly but not always.


Even if manufacturer part number is given from the start this approach may have a big advantage because attribute values for distributor or reseller could be added automatically added from database without changing the schematic.
