The laser printers I've seen disassembled also had some collimating
lenses alongside the rotating mirrors that move the beam; those lenses
will need to be at least repositioned or possibly replaced due to the
wavelength difference (printers use NIR lasers, about twice the
wavelength); otherwise you'd end up with a wider beam (lower resolution)
and / or, worse, a conical beam (inconsistent resolution).
