Hi all, I'm proud to announce the latest release of pcb-rnd: version =
1.1.1. Main focus was on bugfixing and cleanup (special thanks to our te=
sters). Meanwhile we made our first steps to have an interface to Kicad: =
Erich wrote a plugin that can export pcb footprints to .mod (using the le=
gacy format of kicad). We plan to handle Kicad footprints as our second n=
ative footprint format. Release notes: Sixth phase of the large scale cl=
eanup. Major features: - a semi-working windows version (testers needed) =
- resurrected the dbus plugin (testers needed) - proper route style handli=
ng with explicit "pen style" and a real working SetSame() action =
- various gtk bugs fixed - added the first working features in the Kicad =
legacy format I/O plugin - scconfig improvements: - no more config.manual=
.h, everything is detected by ./configure and the user should use command =
line arguments to change settings - only C89 is assumed - proper cross-co=
mpilation (tested in GNU/Linux -> Windows relation) Project page: rep=
o.hu repo.hu Release tarballs: repo.hu repo.hu SVN: repo.hu svn://rep=
o.hu/pcb-rnd/trunk Detailed changelog: repo.hu repo.hu Help wanted: =
repo.hu repo.hu Policy about new features: if enough active users want it=
, it gets implemented. Regards, Igor2 Dear Members & pcb-rnd De=
velopers, While I've know that opengl and transparency was one of the=
reason that Igor2 started pcb-rnd project I wonder if it is possible to ge=
t it back as a compile-time option. Now I'm using Peter's Clifton p=
cb-opengl version ( repo.or.cz repo.or.cz ) with a few my=C2=A0 modificatio=
ns (very simple modifications + a few plug-ins). I found that this version =
works great on my old hardware, and I found that transparent layers & p=
olygons + 3d trackball are functions that I use all the time. On the other =
side pcb-rnd has some features that I really like to have....=C2=A0 Do You =
know how much work is needed to "mix" these 2 projects? Is it even =
possible to make a compile time option or the differences in the code are s=
o large that such thing would need a new project/fork? I can spend some tim=
e coding, but I'm not a professional programmer, and I don't know p=
cb graphics - I want to find out if it is even worth trying. Best Regard=
s, Michael Widlok=0D
