Bert, the way you're saying about is probably the best we could do
now.

I'm trying to support this for gaf, too.

Though, if people can offer some more convenient services, such
as, say, github, and describe for our community how to deal with
them, I wouldn't mind. (github is only an example, though. I don't
believe any proprietary services are good for us.)
