I stay. 

Schematics have been around for decades, gschem is a simple yet powerful tool to draw graphical representations of circuits.

Then come to editing rather small improvements are needed. Then it come to libraries and interfacing to others there is however a lot more to do. Graphical buttons to run gnetlist would be useful. Useful backends are: simulation, circuits board layout, VHDL, Linuxcnc and more.
