I still set board size by setting preferences, and I've been annoyed in the
past when parts manage to vanish off the board, stick themselves there etc.

I'm sure outline is a better way to do it and I'm not opposed to having to
change my ways if it's really required, but if the old way doesn't absolutely
need to get more broken it would be nice if it didn't.  If there's any chance
that objects can warp off to x==y==a billion that's a serious bug, since GUIs
have a tendency to manage to do that sort of thing and the result is an
unfindable object, apparent breakage in import, etc.
