I have been using the pcb-gcode with eagle which worked well but that
board was 2 layers of copper minimum, and radio shacks copper was far
from being even 1 oz so I had a heck of a time where I had to use
thru-holes for an interconnect and parts were covering the thru-hole. I
have it working, as the spindle encoder on my cnc lathe, but it took the
third board make to get it right. Its very difficult to adjust part
spaceing as it wants to match the grid whether the grid was visible or
not, so I wound up carving new disks until I got the slots in the disk
to make a 50%, 90 degree phase signal for use as a quadrature encoder. A
2% error there is a huge amount of noise what I have since written a
filter to average the last 4 edges. So the P in a pid controller can be
cranked up giving a much stiffer load vs speed for the spindle. But on
spindle reversing when doing rigid tapping on the mill, that filter
causes enough error at the turn around point that the Z axis withdrawal
is a couple thousandths out of registration with the fwd drive, so I
need to rethink that a bit. I can see it on the halscope, but its not
yet broken a tap for me from that slight in-out miss-match. The
backlash compensation takes care of it on a steady run, but the
miss-match is 0.0588235294117647059 of the spindles rotation before the
Z, holding the tap, is reversed to follow the spindle's reverse backing
out of the tapped hole.

I did read what docs I could find but could not make the make, make the
pdf. Some dependency that wanted to pull in about a gigs worth of gnome,
and I am running trinity, currently at R14.0.4. Unlike gnome, it Just
Works(TM). My wet ram at its age, 81, cannot recall exactly what that
missing dependency was now. Heck, sometimes I can't remember what I had
for breakfast. :)
