Well... since you ask, yes.  It wasn't fall-down simple, perhaps because
I'm running Debian Stable, and perhaps because initially I didn't have
all the dependencies (and IIRC the libglm dependency wasn't listed).
This is within the past couple of weeks, with KiCAD's new 'stable'.  I
haven't had time to use it yet beyond verifying that it starts without
crashing.

Documentation, including for file formats, is spotty.  This is not the only
free software package to have this problem (one can quibble about degree).
