Mecca would be an inter-operable parts library, and following that portable
layouts.  Obvious I know but worth keeping in mind I think since it seems
like it should be possible.  Currently there's a patchwork of bilateral
translators for parts, something central and agreed-upon would be sooo much
better.  Perhaps it could use existing
translators.  A sort of debian-for-parts.  It's a logical thing for FOSS
EDA to focus on since commercial EDA apparently can't or won't.

Honestly it's a bit frustrating working on other aspects of gEDA because of
the constant feeling that even a small amount of design re-use would be a
lot more productive, if could it be achieved.
