In my humble opinion, long lasting volunteer projects are like a large
oil tanker most of the time. Geda being a semi loose association of
applications may even be compared to a fleet of tankers :-)

The good news about tankers is, they are large, they don't sink easily
and they can generally be depended on. But they also require time and
energy to change course and even more so to gain momentum.

In other words: I'd give the current initiatives including the new
launchpad team more time. After all, there is quite an amount of work
to be done -- triple digit counts of bug reports, website rework, any
of the long talked about major advances waiting to become reality. And
newly minted devs need time to become productive, both technically and
socially.

In summary, I think the recent developments are steps in the right
direction. I hope to see more of it. (minus the infights of course)
