But there is no 1:1 segment mapping between schematics and layout.

I do use so called graphical symbols to provide information to the
person doing some of my layouts, but she has to consider them as hints
which have to be applied by default. They affect the majority of the
copper segments, but not all due to physical impossibility (high
currents to 0.5 or 0.65mm pitch IC for example).
