Beatiful font for screen display is good and it is important to be able to read text.

I guess design rule check have to work with same drawing primitives as in the gerber file but I might be wrong. If this is the case it would make sense to work with these kind of drawing primitives in memory but it would however be possible to use something else at the same time to get something nice looking on screen. For the moment this is also a theoretical opinion only.
