But that=92s a valid, safe approach. Gschem and gnetlist are old, =
complex programs that nevertheless have great flexibility. No individual =
user or developer really understands all of their capabilities. The =
potential for inadvertent  harm when modifying them is great. I used to =
spar with Peter Brett, but I have to give him credit for the great care =
he took when refactoring geda-gaf code.

The other safe approach is optional add-ons. Scheme scripts, symbol =
creation tools, attribute editors, etc. Harmless: if incompatible with =
your flow, don=92t use them. But we need a lot of scrutiny for changes =
in code that=92s common to all flows.
