I have to say, I completely agree. The tendency of gschem to pull net lines into shapes that disconnect from pins is disconnecting (pun intended :-). From a technical point of view, I don't see a fundamental issue. We already have the "kissing mode". Given two directly connected pins stay connected by a net line which is created on the fly if you pull one of the pins away.
